Now maybe this isn't such a big deal for everypony, but when you are in your thirties and celebrating the holidays with your new husband's extended family, it quickly becomes a whole other story. Picture this, everybody's talking and having a nice time watching the kids opening all of their gifts. Then all of a sudden one of the little munchkins opens up what seems like their 19th gift of the day and without warning you squeal out, "OOOhhh, Baby Twilight Sparkle!!!"
Of course, this happened to me. And at a volume much louder than I originally intended. The whole room seemed to go quiet and everyone slowly turned around to look at me like I've just sprouted 2 extra heads. Well the toy turned out to be So Soft Sunny Daze and yup I ended up being more excited then the 5yr old that opened the gift. Aaaand my husband's whole family saw that reaction. Now I'm not embarrassed to watch the show every week and collect all things My Little Pony. I just didn't want to announce it so emphatically at my new family's gathering. Oh well, what can you do? I can't help it if I love ponies!
Maybe this blog could double as a support group for other pony fans like myself.
